About the author.

Paul G4DCVAmiga

After many years working freelance in production for the UK television industry I am now employed by The Surrey Institute of Art & Design as a Senior Lecturer teaching students on the BA (Hons) degree in Film & Video.

In addition to my teaching duties I am fortunate to undertake regular international missions for the Institute and recent visits include India, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, China, Mongolia and Malaysia. I am always keen to meet other radio amateurs or Amiga enthusiasts on these trips.

I have been licensed since 1974 and I have a continuing interest in VHF, UHF and Microwave construction and DX working on SSB and CW having been very active on 50MHz, 70Mhz, 144Mhz, 432MHz and 1296MHz. I hold the RSGB 144 Senior Award and have been active on DX modes including Meteor Scatter & EME. Currently due to work commitments and QTH limitations I am less active but still have occasional QSOs on 50MHz and 1296MHz.

I use an Amiga 4000 in Micronik Tower with CyberStorm 060/50, 96Mb RAM, Vlab digitiser, Picasso IV plus Pablo/Paloma and Opalvision Graphics Cards.

My other interests include vintage tube HiFi and I run the Unofficial BBC LS3/5a loudspeaker support web site
