Workbench Disk: Devs Drawer

The Devs and Storage drawers both contain the following drawers:

  • DataTypes
Allow your computer to read different files formats.
  • DosDrivers
Software drivers that extend the abilities of the OS
  • Keymaps
Determines the arrangement & meaning of characters on the keyboard.
  • Monitors
Available monitor types that are supported.
  • Printers
Enables the Amiga to communicate with a given printer.
Note: Floppy disk only systems use a Storage disk instead of a Storage drawer.

The Devs drawer contains the device driver files for the devices that are currently active on the system.

The Storage drawer/disk contains devices drivers files that are not currently in use, except the Datatypes.

You can drag Datatypes to store in the Datatypes drawer in Storage if you wish.

Storing unused files in the Storage drawer or disk can save disk space on your boot disk.

Also found in the DEVS: drawer are the following files:

  • Clipboard.device
